ARMED ROBBERY Victim reported he arranged meeting at parking lot of Walgreens on Vollmer Rd. to sell smartphone. 2 subjects armed with handguns took smartphone and fled in 2 door turquoise vehicle.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY Subject smashed change machine at Speedway on Crawford Ave. after clerk refused to sell him cigarettes without an I.D.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY A television and jewelry was stolen from residence on Brookwood Dr. Entry was gained by smashing in basement window.

BATTERY / RESISTING ARREST Employee at McDonalds reported being punched and having pop thrown at his face at the drive-thru window. Subject was apprehended in Chicago Heights and attempted to flee, but was apprehended again.

BATTERY Subject arrested after following victim to residence on Graymoor and spraying pepper spray in victims face and pulling her hair.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY Residence on Elliot Ct. was broken into. Entry was gained by forcing open side garage door.

RESISTING ARREST / UNLAWFUL USE OF WEAPON Officers responded to report of 2 subjects, 1 wielding an axe,   fighting in middle of Joe Orr & Western Ave. One Subject was arrested for attempting to pull axe on officer and had to be physically restrained.

FRAUD Homeowners were approached by subject offering to repair cracks in driveway for $42. When he finished, he stated they owed him $3600. Subject described as m/h, early 30’s, driving black pick-up truck with passenger side damage.

THEFT A washer and dryer was reported stolen from residence on Elliot Ct. Entry was gained through back garage door.

BATTERY Student at Rich Central was charged with battery after assaulting security officer and had to be physically restrained.

ARMED ROBBERY 2 subjects wearing masks entered Game Stop armed with a handgun and demanded money from cash register. Subjects described as m/b, 5’10” - 6’ tall fled with $300 to $400

THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLE Victim reported handgun stolen from vehicle at residence on Birch.

BATTERY Teacher at Rich Central reported student in class came up behind her and placed arm around her neck and struck her several times. Several students in the class came to her aid and attempted to pull subject off before security arrived.

BURGLARY Victim reported 2 televisions and other items stolen from residence on Hellenic Dr.

BATTERY Employee at Dunkin Donuts reported subject at drive-thru window threw a hot cup of coffee at her causing blistering on her face. She stated subject was upset about receiving the wrong order. Subject described as m/b, extremely heavyset, wearing a Planet Hyundai shirt, and driving a black Monte Carlo.

BURGLARY A snowblower was stolen from shed on Chariot Ln. Entry was gained by prying door near deadbolt.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY Victim reported vehicle parked at 203rd St. Metra lot was keyed, leaving large scratch down entire drivers side and passenger side.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY A drill press, band saw, and various tools were stolen from residence on Brookwood Dr. Entry was gained through a forced open rear garage door.

VEHICLE BURGLARY 2 smart phones were stolen from vehicle parked at Game Stop on Lincoln Hwy.

MAN WIELDS MACHETE Subject was reported running through traffic in the intersection of Vollmer and Kedzie wielding a large machete, then running through Walgreens parking lot. Responding officer spotted subject standing near front door of Walgreens with a large black machete, Officer approached subject with weapon drawn and ordered subject on the ground. Subject was arrested without incident.

ARMED ROBBERY 3 subjects described as m/b’s, wearing black shirts with masks entered Game Stop and instructed clerk to give them the money from the register. They also took game consoles and video games, then fled in white van.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 2 televisions and possibly jewelry were stolen from residence on Founders Way. Entry was gained by breaking out basement window.

SENIOR CITIZEN PHONE SCAM Victim reported being scammed by fraudulent phone call informing her granddaughter was arrested for DUI and needed $1000 bail. Caller advised her to purchase $1000 in Green Dot Cards and give him the card numbers.  

VEHICLE BURGLARY Victim reported purse containing cash, credit card, checkbook, and cell phone were stolen from vehicle parked at Horizon Hospice.

BATTERY Subject arrested for assaulting staff member at St. James.

THEFT Subject described as m/b, 6’3”, medium build, mid 40’s. fled Bizio’s with stolen merchandise in a grey 2 door vehicle.

VEHICLE BURGLARY Subject observed stealing 4 tires & wheels off vehicle at Currie Motors at 3:15am. Subject described as m/b, 6’3”, medium build, jeans, dark shirt, and tan knit cap fled on foot.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY Purses, 3 mink coats, jewelry, and 4 video game systems were stolen from residence on Cumnock. Home was ransacked and vehicle in garage was vandalized. Entry was gained through overhead garage door and the garage entry door was forced open.

BATTERY Subject arrested after altercation with wife and stepson at residence on Oak Ln.

VEHICLE BURGLARY A car stereo was reported stolen from vehicle parked at St. James ER.

THEFT Victim reported a Citi credit card, drivers license, Medicare card, and $50 in cash stolen from apartment on Breakers Dr.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 3 televisions, an Xbox 360, video games, dvd’s, and appx. $1000 in cash was stolen from residence on 204th St. Entry was gained by breaking side utility room door with hammer.

BATTERY Subject arrested at residence on London Dr. and charged with battery, violation of restraining orders, and drug possession.

VEHICLE THEFT An SUV was stolen from garage on London Dr. Vehicle was located at impound yard on N. Sacramento in Chicago.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY A window was broken and another window removed in an attempt to gain entry into Perros Bros. on Lincoln Hwy. Subject was arrested later that day by Matteson Police.

ID THEFT Victim was contacted by a collection agency regarding an outstanding balance of $2622 on a Verizon account that was fraudulently opened in his name.

THEFT / CREDIT CARD FRAUD Resident at Brookdale Plaza reported his Fifth Third Bank credit card was stolen and had $311.38 of fraudulent charges made at Jewel and Walmart locations in Chicago.

 

OLYMPIA FIELDS 8-8-2014

THEFT / CREDIT CARD FRAUD Resident at Brookdale Plaza had a US Bank credit card and First Midwest credit card stolen from her purse that is kept in her apartment. The US Bank card had $654 of fraudulent charges, the First Midwest card had appx. $700 of fraudulent charges.

THEFT / CREDIT CARD FRAUD Resident at Brookdale Plaza had her Sears credit card stolen from her room at an unknown time. $250 of fraudulent charges were made on the card.

THEFT / CREDIT CARD FRAUD Resident at Brookdale Plaza reported an ID card and credit card missing. Credit card had $495 of fraudulent charges. 

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE PARTS A catalytic converter was stolen from vehicle parked at GFS.

THEFT Outpatient at St. James waiting room was approached by 2 m/b subjects asking her to help them read a chart. While her attention was diverted, one subject stole her wallet from purse that was next to her on seat. Wallet contained ID card and several credit cards.

VEHICLE BURGLARY Victim reported keys stolen from locker at Charter Fitness. He then checked his vehicle and found it unlocked and money taken from center console. Witness at gym reported seeing a m/w with baseball cap and dark shirt looking into vehicles in parking lot.

SUV STOLEN Victim reported a 2012 Land Rover stolen from driveway on Glen Eagles Dr. Video surveillance revealed a dark colored vehicle with its lights off, pull all the way to the garage. 2 subjects, one m/b with shorts, enter Land Rover and back out of driveway. Vehicle was found on 7/18 by Harvey police at 159th & Paulina in the possession of one juvenile.

VEHICLE BURGLARY Victim reported purse containing several debit cards and several id cards taken from vehicle parked in driveway on Cambridge. Victim noticed earlier, several strangers, possibly teens, standing around but thought nothing of it.

VEHICLE BURGLARY Victim reported a laptop, external harddrive, and Jordan gym shoes taken from vehicle on Sheffield.

VEHICLE BURGLARY Victim reported items taken from vehicle in driveway on Chelsea Cir. Video surveillance revealed a white vehicle pull into driveway at 5:27, 2 m/b subjects entered vehicle then run back into white vehicle headed eastbound.

HIGH SPEED CHASE / POSSESSION OF CANNABIS OVER 30 GRAMS Subject arrested after eluding police at high speed and striking car parked in driveway on Marathon Ct.

VEHICLE BURGLARY / ID THEFT Victim reported wallet taken from vehicle parked at John’s American Grill appx. 12:30pm. Credit card in wallet was fraudulently used at Speedway, Marathon, Carsons, and Petsmart.

RETAIL THEFT Manager at Speedway on Vollmer reported 250 gallons of gas stolen from damaged pump within a 24 hour period.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY At 1:57pm victim reported screen on window next to front door was removed and glass window opened at residence on W.207th St.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY At 9:38pm police responded to burglar alarm. Jewelry boxes and watches were taken from residence on Hermes Dr.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY At 9:02pm police responded to burglar alarm on Mohawk. Forced entry was gained through sun room. K9 unit brought in from Tinley Park and followed tracks to 203rd & Fairfield.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY / HOME INVASION At 9:26pm homeowner on Graymoor reported hearing noise from outside her master bedroom, then seeing subject wearing hooded sweatshirt walking around second floor. Subject fled down the stairs and exited front door without incident. Entry was gained through smashed glass in side service door. State police K9 unit followed track to subdivision entrance at Joe Orr Rd.

ID THEFT Victim reported accountant was unable to e-file her taxes. She was later notified by IRS that someone else had already used her information.

ARMED ROBBERY 2 m/b subjects armed with a hand gun and wearing masks entered Game Stop and demanded money from cash register. Also demanded the purse of another woman in store.

BATTERY Victim on Hellenic reported she was injured by her son during his fit of rage. Subject taken to St. James for psychiatric evaluation.

RETAIL THEFT Subjects arrested for stealing 34 prepaid Visa cards from CVS. Also charged with speeding while fleeing the scene.

RETAIL THEFT 4 teen subjects were observed shoplifting at Walgreens on Governors Hwy. and flee westbound toward Lindenwood Apartments.

BOMB THREAT At 11:51 a bomb threat at Rich Central was phoned in at 11:51. School was searched with negative results. All clear given at 12:15.

BOMB THREAT Police dispatched to Rich Central in reference to a bomb threat. An interior search was conducted with negative results.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY Subject entered Shell on Lincoln Hwy. Then became enraged and pushed over shelving unit after clerk refused to lower the price on a can of pop.

BOMB THREAT At 10:23 police responded to a bomb threat at Rich Central that was set to go off in 10 minutes. Building was evacuated and an interior search found nothing.

BOMB THREAT At 13:17 police responded to another bomb threat at Rich Central in the boys locker room. The locker room was search with negative results.

BOMB THREAT At 14:47 police responded to a bomb threat at Rich Central. The school was evacuated and an interior premise search found nothing.

ARMED ROBBERY Subject arrested for armed robbery at Walgreens on Governors Hwy. after telling cashier he had a gun and demanding money from cash register. Store manager discreetly called police, who arrived quickly and apprehended subject.

POLICE OFFICER ASSAULTED Subject arrested and charged with resisting arrest and battery, after altercation with police officers who were in the process of arresting him for possession of cannabis.

 

OLYMPIA FIELDS 2-17-2014

ASSAULT / WOMAN STRUCK WITH CAR Resident on Brookwood Dr. was arrested for striking his wife in their garage with his vehicle, which threw her onto items in the back of garage. Subject proceeded forward crashing into items. Victim was injured but declined aid from paramedics. Subject arrested for assault.

 

OLYMPIA FIELDS 2-13-2014

THEFT Victim reported that she dropped a pouch containing personal identification, in the pharmacy area of Walgreens. An unknown subject picked up pouch and fled. Subject was identified through surveillance video and arrested.

THEFT Victim reported a Ipod, speakers, tools, and misc. items taken from residence on Danube.

 

OLYMPIA FIELDS 2-4-2014

PRESCRIPTION FRAUD Subject, who is an employee of St. James, was arrested for writing fraudulent prescriptions.

THEFT Victim reported ring valued at $2500 stolen from business in the 19900 block of Governors Hwy.

 

OLYMPIA FIELDS 1-30-2014

IDENTITY THEFT Victim was contacted by collection agency regarding fraudulent $974 AT&T bill that was registered to an address in Harvey.

BATTERY Victim reported being punched in the face by husband at residence on London Dr.

 

OLYMPIA FIELDS 1-27-2014

IDENTITY THEFT Victim contacted by CVS regarding 2 prescriptions of Norco that was filled in her name. Subject described as w/m, 6’ tall.

 

OLYMPIA FIELDS 1-26-2014

THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLE Victim reported catalytic converter stolen from vehicle parked at 211th Metra lot.

 

OLYMPIA FIELDS 1-20-2014

BATTERY Staff member at St. James reported being assaulted by disruptive patient.

THEFT Victim reported wallet containing several credit cards, ID’s, and checkbook stolen from her office at St. James. Unknown subject later attempted to purchase gift card at CVS. Surveillance video at CVS revealed m/b, 20yrs, 5’9”, 185lbs, braids, with gray and black jacket.

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE PARTS Victim reported catalytic converter stolen from vehicle parked at 211th Metra lot.

THEFT OVER $500 Victim reported IPad along with several other items stolen from apartment on Breakers Dr.

 

OLYMPIA FIELDS 1-11-2014

IDENTITY THEFT Victim reported several fraudulent charges totaling $520 on a credit card that has never left his possession.

 

OLYMPIA FIELDS 1-3-2014

ATTEMPTED BREAK IN / CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY Victim reported unknown subject kicked in rear door of residence on Cambridge. Victim’s dog charged intruder and chased him out and through backyard. Victim recalls seeing small white vehicle parked in front of her home earlier.

BREAK IN / CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY Service entry door was kicked in at vacant residence on Cambridge.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY Victim reported flat screen TV, WII-U, and 2 leap frog tablets taken from residence on London Dr. Entry was gained through service entry door and kicked in door from garage to house.

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE PARTS Victim reported all 4 wheels stolen from vehicle  parked at 211th Metra lot.
